His passion for music started on the drum-set at age eleven and evolved as he picked up percussion in high school. In 2012, he attended Snow College in Ephraim, Utah, focusing on jazz drum-set and percussion under the tutelage of Jay Lawrence and Car Allen and spending the summers drumming in the house band at Lagoon amusement park in Farmington, Utah. Upon leaving Snow College, he began working with corporate event and wedding band, No Limits, traveling and performing nationally and internationally, including destinations like Cancun, Mexico, and Guatemala City. In 2015 he was accepted to Berklee College of Music with a scholarship where he focused on production, composition, and sound design, studying under the mentorship of world-renowned teachers like Richard Boulanger and Matthew Davidson to learn electronic music tools like Ableton, Logic, Max/MSP/Jitter, and Csound. He also deepened his performance skillset, studying drumset with Kenwood Dennard, vibraphone with Ed Saindon, hand-percussion and tabla with Jerry Leake, and improvisation with Kenny Werner. He graduated from Berklee in 2019 with a degree in Electronic Production and Design and a minor in Effortless Mastery. He subsequently moved back to Salt Lake to continue his education at the University of Utah, earning a Masters of Music in Jazz Studies in 2022.
